You're on this website because something isn't right and you want to feel better. Maybe anxiety is getting in the way of your life, sucking all the joy out of it, perhaps someone you loved has died and your grief feels overwhelming and you wonder if it will ever end or your relationships often seem to end badly and you don't understand why.
Whatever your reason for being here, I want you to know that there is hope, things can be better than they are right now.
Having regular counselling sessions with me will help you gain a new perspective on what's troubling you. We will look at what is working for you right now and what isn't. We will talk about your options, whether that be to make changes or learning to accept where you're at right now.
It will be an opportunity for you to be listened to without judgement, without feeling hurried or that you're burdening a friend with your problems. You will feel heard and understood. You will be able to say the things you've been holding back when with friends or family for fear of hurting, offending or worrying them. If you struggle to find the words to communicate what you're feeling I can help. We will find a way for you to express yourself and lighten that burden you've been carrying.
I offer a free 30-minute, no obligation, consultation, where we can meet and talk about why you want counselling. You can ask me any questions you may have and get a feel for what it would be like to see me regularly. You can book ongoing appointments there and then or take time to think about it.
Why not take that first step and book a free consultation with me? What have you got to lose?
Knowing your child is not coping emotionally is really hard, you want to fix it and take their pain away but you don't know how. Advice from friends and family can be really valuable but there are times when you need the help of a professional. I have worked with young people for over 20 years and know that they can feel overwhelmed by their feelings. Anxiety, self-harm, anger, being withdrawn are all signs that something is not right with their internal world but they don't know what to do about it.
As their counsellor I will offer them an opportunity to talk without feeling under pressure. Every session is tailored to their specific needs and what helps them to open up. As well as sitting and talking we might play board games (I'm particularly good at Uno Extreme!), paint, draw, listen to music.
I will help them see that emotions are good and not something to try and get away from, they serve a purpose and tell us when we're enjoying something or when something isn't right and needs to change. I will help them find a way to have the confidence to speak up when things aren't right and ask for what they need in order to make changes.
As their parent/carer all you want is for your son/daughter to be happy. Together we can help them achieve that.
Email or call me and let's book in a free 30-minute consultation, you can meet me and check me out, after all you'll be trusting me with your son or daughter! It's an opportunity to ask me any questions you have and for them to get a taste of what it would be like to see me on a regular basis.

Trauma is defined as a deeply distressing or disturbing experience. If you have suffered a trauma it is likely that you are having flashbacks of the event, that your sleep is disturbed and you are struggling to go about life as you used to.
I am trained in the use of the Rewind Technique which offers a way of permanently stopping the involuntary recall and putting you back in control.
All memories are automatically filed away by our brains so that we can recall them when we want to for example a great meal out with friends, a family holiday or where you left your keys last night. When it comes to trauma your brain cannot file it away which is why the memories pop up when you don't want them to.
I will take you through the simple steps of the technique, there is no need for you to give me the details of the trauma minimising the risk of you being re-traumatised or disclosing sensitive information.
For single event trauma you should only need 3 sessions, the first session to go through the technique the 2nd and 3rd are follow up appointments. For multiple event trauma such as combat, sexual abuse or domestic violence etc. each traumatic event can be dealt with individually over separate sessions or depending on the involuntary recall can be dealt with in one session, with two follow up appointments.
